Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Lumerse Studio, from project kickoff to final delivery.

01

Process & Getting Started

Every project follows a structured pipeline: consultation, design intake, 3D modeling, visualization, and final delivery. We start with a brief call to understand your goals and deliverables, then receive your design files or schedule an on-site capture if needed. From there, we build the 3D environment, produce photorealistic renderings, VR walkthroughs, or virtual tour assets, and deliver final files in your preferred format. Most projects take 2–4 weeks from kickoff to delivery.
The easiest way to get started is to request an estimate through our contact page. Tell us about your space, your goals, and your timeline. We'll follow up within 24 hours with a project scope and quote. No commitment required — we're happy to answer questions before you decide.
Light preparation helps, but nothing extensive is required. We recommend clearing walkways so our capture equipment can move freely, and removing personal items you don't want documented. For best results, ensure consistent lighting throughout the space. We'll provide a brief prep checklist before your scheduled visit.
02

Deliverables & Formats

Deliverables depend on the project type. Common formats include:
  • Renderings: High-resolution JPEG and PNG (up to 8K)
  • 3D Models: .3dm (Rhino), .fbx, .obj, .usdz, Datasmith
  • Virtual Tours: Self-hosted HTML5 web tours (3DVista)
  • Panoramas: Equirectangular JPEG (360°)
  • Floor Plans: PDF and high-resolution image exports
We tailor deliverables to your workflow. If you need a specific format, let us know.
Yes. Our 3DVista virtual tours are VR-compatible and viewable in any web browser, including Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro browsers. For fully immersive experiences, we can also package projects for Unreal Engine VR playback. Let us know your target platform and we'll optimize accordingly.
A 3DVista virtual tour is an interactive, browser-based experience that lets viewers navigate through a space using 360-degree panoramic images. Users click hotspots to move between rooms, zoom into details, and explore at their own pace. Tours can be embedded on your website, shared via link, or viewed in VR headsets — no app download required.
Yes. We produce detailed floor plans as part of our architectural visualization packages. Floor plans are generated from our 3D models and exported as clean, presentation-ready graphics. They can be delivered as standalone PDFs or integrated into your rendering package.

Technology & Accuracy

Lumerse Studio's visualization pipeline is built on industry-leading tools: Rhino 3D for precision modeling, Unreal Engine for real-time rendering and VR experiences, Twinmotion for architectural visualization, and 3DVista for interactive virtual tours. For projects requiring spatial capture, we use LiDAR and photogrammetry to produce sub-millimeter-accurate 3D models as the foundation for our visualization work.
Our 3D models achieve sub-millimeter accuracy when built from spatial capture data. For projects starting from design files, the model precision matches your source geometry exactly. Typical scan-based results are within ±2mm for interior spaces, suitable for architectural documentation, renovation planning, and as-built verification.
A point cloud is a collection of millions of individual 3D coordinate points captured by a scanner. Each point represents a precise location in space, and together they form a detailed digital replica of a physical environment. Point clouds serve as the raw data foundation for our 3D models, renderings, and virtual tours.

Pricing & Timeline

Project pricing depends on scope, deliverable types, and complexity. Photorealistic rendering packages typically start at $2,500 for residential projects. Immersive VR walkthroughs and 360 virtual tours start at $1,500 for small-to-medium spaces. We provide detailed quotes after an initial consultation — request an estimate through our contact page for a project-specific breakdown. See our pricing page for package details.
Typical timelines range from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on project scope. If on-site capture is needed, that usually takes 1–2 days. Modeling, rendering, and visualization production take 1–3 weeks depending on complexity and revision rounds. Rush delivery is available for time-sensitive projects — let us know your deadline and we'll accommodate where possible.
Yes. We offer adjusted pricing for cultural institutions, nonprofit organizations, and preservation projects. Lumerse Studio is committed to making immersive visualization accessible for projects that preserve cultural heritage, public art, and historically significant spaces. Contact us to discuss your project and we'll work with your budget.

Service Area

Lumerse Studio is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our primary service area covers all of New Mexico, with regional coverage extending to Arizona, Colorado, and West Texas. We regularly travel for projects throughout the Southwest. For projects outside our primary area, travel arrangements can be made — contact us to discuss logistics.
Absolutely. For projects that start from existing design files (Rhino models, CAD drawings, floor plans), we can work entirely remotely. We regularly collaborate with architecture firms and developers who send us their design files for visualization work. On-site spatial capture requires a physical visit, but all post-production work is handled digitally with remote review and approval.
